BSI has published new guidance for manufacturers and designers assessing a product's environmental impact across its entire life cycle. The guide, sponsored by OPSS, is written as a framework to help organisations who design and manufacture electrical products navigate existing sustainability standards.
The guide has considerations for all stages of the product life cycle, including raw material extraction and processing, design, production, packaging, transportation, use and end of life.
This PAS (Publicly Available Specification) is for use by product owners responsible for the design and manufacture of applicable products. Product consumers, policy setters and those working in associated fields such as recyclers, repurposers, repairers and retailers can also benefit from implementing PAS 7770:2024.
