Optus strengthens network coverage in Bendigo

New Optus tower to enhance mobile coverage for Bendigo residents, businesses and tourists

Residents in the City of Greater Bendigo have received a coverage boost, with Optus recently switching on a highly anticipated mobile tower in the city centre, with six more mobile sites expected to go live in the region this year.

The new tower further strengthens Optus network capacity in the local area and will provide people living, working, and visiting the region with a better network experience for calls and downloads.

Optus Territory General Manager for North Victoria, Matt Connell, said Optus is pleased that the people of Bendigo now have a resilient and versatile network as well as greater mobile competition and choice.

The CBD is a hub for many residents, businesses, and visitors, and were pleased to support the local community and its growing population by offering our customers an improved network experience, as well as providing greater capacity to the Optus network in the local region.

This tower will not only benefit the local community but also service the many tourists who visit Bendigo each year and require fast download speeds and reliable connectivity, and local businesses who rely on our mobile network, said Matt.

The investment to expand Optus telecommunications infrastructure and mobile coverage across Victoria is part of an ongoing project to improve range, reliability, and speed across the Optus mobile network.
