The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mission) is deeply concerned by reports of serious threats directed against member of the FBIH House of Representatives Sanel Kajan and members of his family, including alleged death threats, harassment, and intimidation.
Threats of violence against elected officials or any other citizen are unacceptable and have no place in a democratic society. Such criminal acts undermine fundamental human rights, democratic participation, and the rule of law.
The Mission calls on the relevant authorities to conduct a prompt, thorough, and impartial investigation into all reported threats and acts of intimidation, and to ensure the safety and security of those affected.
The Mission reiterates its support for the protection of fundamental freedoms, including the right to participate in public life free from threats, harassment, and violence.
