Ourimbah Incident: Woman Charged with Attempted Murder

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was critically injured at Ourimbah last month.

About 10.20am on Monday 3 July 2023, officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended a unit on Walmsley Road, Ourimbah, due to concerns for the welfare of a 33-year-old woman.

The woman was found unresponsive with serious injuries before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established and investigations under Strike Force Weald commenced.

On Tuesday 22 August 2023, detectives attended a correctional facility in Silverwater and spoke with a 29-year-old woman.

Following further inquiries, the woman was charged with attempted murder and remains in custody.

She will appear via audio visual link (AVL) at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday 23 August 2023.
