The four successful musicians for the GRID Series' 2025 Outer Perth Edition have been announced, supported by a $108,000 investment from the Cook Government.

The free six-month program - presented in collaboration with First Nations Focus (FN Focus) -will provide the successful four artists with mentoring, song development, professional recording sessions, video production and live performance opportunities.

The four selected artists are:

  • PERSIA (Lakelands) - RnB/Pop artist blending neo-soul and dreamy soundscapes with a captivating voice
  • JAEQ (Busselton/Mandurah) - Indigenous Hip Hop storyteller with sharp lyricism and unstoppable drive
  • Kalia Atawhai (Beeliar) - Pop/RnB/Hip Hop artist with velvet-smooth vocals and undeniable flow
  • Hello Stranger (Mandurah) - Young indie rock band with infectious energy and vibrant stage presence

As part of the program, each artist will work alongside some of Australia's leading producers and directors, collaborate on a fully produced track, and feature in a documentary film capturing their journey as an artist.

Live performance opportunities across outer Perth and beyond will also help boost their visibility to new audiences.

Since 2013, the GRID Series has supported more than 65 emerging artists from outer suburban areas across Australia, with alumni including Perth's own Flewnt.

The 2025 Outer Perth edition marks GRID Series' first program in Perth since 2019, building on its legacy of empowering local talent and fostering pathways into national and international success.

As stated by Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk:

"Western Australia is home to some of the country's most exciting emerging musicians, and programs like the GRID Series give them the tools and confidence to take their art to the next level.

"This initiative is about breaking down barriers for artists in our outer suburbs, making sure distance is never a disadvantage when it comes to chasing a career in the music industry.

"The GRID Series has a strong track record of nurturing artists who go on to achieve national and international success, and I can't wait to see how these four outer Perth artists make their musical mark."
