Pair to appear in Berri court on drug charges, SA

A man and a woman from the Riverland region are expected to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court charged with serious drug offences, according to SA Police.

The 41-year-old man and 48-year-old woman have been charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled drug, and since counts of trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, cultivating cannabis and possessing a prescription drug.

The pair were arrested after police executed a search warrant at an address in the region about 11.20am yesterday (Thursday 11 May) as a result of information being provided to Crime Stoppers.

Drugs seized

Police located a range of drugs – about 60g of amphetamines, 70 g of 4-hydroxybutanoic which is commonly known as liquid fantasy or GHB, 4kg of cannabis, three cannabis plants and a quantity of medication for which they did not have an appropriate prescription.

The accused were refused police bail and will appear in court today.
