Pair to face court over clandestine laboratory, SA

Police from Western Adelaide Operation Mantle, acting on information from the public, searched a property at Ottoway yesterday afternoon in relation to illicit drugs, according to SA Police.

Just before 5.30pm on Saturday 30 July, police searched the house and located a clandestine laboratory suspected of being used to produce methamphetamine.

A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Ottoway, were arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled substance.

The man has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow, while the woman was bailed to appear in the same court on 1 September.

Specialist members from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch were called in to dismantle the laboratory.
