Palliative care summit

West Australians will have a chance to discuss palliative care issues with health experts at the WA Palliative Care Summit 2019 in August.

Health Minister Roger Cook will open the breakfast event, which will bring together professionals, GPs and stakeholders, as well as consumers and primary care givers, to discuss palliative care issues.

This summit aims to shape how we put into practice the strategies and recommendations from the Joint Select Committee's My Life My Choice report, WA End of Life and Palliative Care Strategy 2018-2028 and the Sustainable Health Review.

The focus will be on four main themes – Person, Community, Health Setting and Health Professionals.

The WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network is hosting the event in partnership with Palliative Care WA, WA Country Health Service WA Primary Health Alliance, Palliative and Supportive Care Education and the Health Consumers Council WA.

The summit will be held on Saturday 24 August 2019 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 7am to 1pm. A webinar will be held prior to the event for stakeholders who are unable to attend.
