A Palmwoods man is one step closer to unlocking the doors to his very own home after discovering his exciting $540,000 Saturday Gold Lotto win in the weekend's draw.
The Sunshine Coast resident held one of the 12 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4581, drawn Saturday 14 June 2025, and looks forward to $546,076.66.
So far in 2025, the Sunshine Coast region has celebrated eight major lottery wins, totalling over $7 million in prize money.
The winning man relayed how the winning discovery came about, revealing he initially thought the windfall was only $500.
"Thank you very much! I had to look at it three or four times on Saturday to make sure I was seeing it correctly," he laughed.
"I thought it was only $500 at first, and then I looked again and thought I read $5,000. I said, 'Hang on, the decimal is way further!'.
"I play now and then, not often! I'm honestly very shocked.
"I've been wanting to buy a house or a block of land for a while; get into the property market.
"This is so exciting."
His winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
