Pandemic impact on pool openings

While supervised pools across the MidCoast will open for the swim season, the region's unmanned pools will remain closed at this time to comply with current health orders.

Under current restrictions, MidCoast facilities can operate with a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place, and by complying with social distancing requirements.

"Where facilities are not fully supervised, we're unable to monitor the number of visitors and the ways in which they are interacting when on the premises", explained Dan Aldridge, MidCoast Council's Executive Manager of Community Spaces. "This means some of our district pools will remain closed for general public use at this point in time".

Under the current Safety Plan requirements set out for swimming pools, MidCoast Council is unable to meet the criteria at Nabiac, Bulahdelah, Stroud and Krambach pools, where staff and resources are unavailable to support a COVID-safe plan. This criteria includes:
