Taskforce Falcon detectives have seized six grenades, eight firearms and drugs with a potential street value of $3 million following raids at an alleged safe house in Sydney's south west yesterday.
Established in May 2025, Task Force Falcon targets all organised crime, public place shootings and gangland violence committed by Organised Crime Network's (OCN's) in Sydney.
Following the work of specialist police from State Crime Command with assistance of Metropolitan Regions and the NSW Crime Commission, Task Force Falcon has arrested 683 people, resulting in 1727 charges.
About 9am yesterday (Tuesday 28 July 2026) detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – executed a firearm prohibition order compliance check at a home in Glenfield.
During the search police seized six grenades, three semi-automatic assault rifles, four shot guns, a pistol, firearm parts, more than 1000 rounds of ammunition, 6kg of cocaine, 1kg of methylamphetamine, 1kg of ketamine, 15kg of cannabis, 1.1kg of heroin, 107g of MDMA, electronic devices and about $9000 in cash.
A man and woman – both aged 26 – were arrested and taken to Campbeltown Police Station.
The man was charged with 27 offences, including:
- Possess dangerous/noxious thing with intention to injure
- Possess, supply or make explosive for unlawful purpose
- Possess more than 3 unregistered firearms, 1 is prohibited/pistol
- Possess more than 3 unregistered firearms without licence/permit
- Possess unauthorised pistol
- Not keep firearm safely-pistol
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
- Not keep firearm safely prohibited firearm
- Two counts of possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
- Deface identification mark on firearm/part
- Two counts of possess unauthorised firearm
- Not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm
- Possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority
- Acquire firearm part without authority to do so
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Organises/conducts/assists drug premises
- Three counts of supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity
- Supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity
- Three counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable & less than commercial quantity
- Supply cannabis greater than indictable & less than commercial quantity
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Wednesday 29 July 2026).
The 26-year-old woman was charged with organises/conducts/assists drug premises and granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 27 August 2026.
Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley said this is NSW Police doing what they do best - keeping people safe and taking dangerous weapons off the streets.
"It's awful to think what could have happened if police hadn't intervened when they did," Minister Catley said.
"We do not want to see these weapons in our communities and thanks to the hard work of police, they are now out of the hands of criminals.
"Taskforce Falcon is out there every day dismantling, disrupting, and preventing organised crime, targeting those who think they can threaten the safety of our communities.
"To anyone thinking of taking part in this alleged vicious criminality, our message is be prepared to spend a long time in a small cell."
Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook, State Crime Commander, said this seizure significantly disrupts OCN's.
"The seizure of grenades, multiple firearms and a significant quantity of illicit drugs demonstrate exactly why Taskforce Falcon was established," AC Cook said.
"Grenades and military-style weapons have no place in suburban Sydney. The fact these items were located inside an alleged safe house shows the level of violence these groups are prepared to engage in, and the level of risk they pose to the public.
"We will continue to target these networks relentlessly. Anyone involved in organised criminal activity should expect Taskforce Falcon to be at their door."
