Sydney's Most Beautiful Market Returns This Christmas

North Sydney Council

The Coal Loader Christmas Artisans Market will bring together 100 true artisan stalls, beautiful handmade gifts, local makers and free family entertainment for a festive day by the harbour, all easily accessible via a free shuttle bus from Waverton Station.

Sustainability is what sets the market apart. Rather than filling the Christmas shopping list with mass-produced gifts, visitors can discover handcrafted pieces, support independent makers and embrace a more thoughtful approach to giving.

Set against the historic harbourside surrounds of The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, the free market is more than a Christmas shopping trip. It's a chance to make a day of it, discover artisan products, unique homewares, festive finds and food and soak up the Christmas atmosphere with family and friends.

North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker said the market offered a special way to celebrate the festive season while supporting the creative community.

"Supporting local artisans is a wonderful way to celebrate the festive season while making more sustainable choices and supporting the creative people in our community," Mayor Baker said.

"The Coal Loader is one of North Sydney's most special public spaces and the Christmas Artisans Market is the perfect opportunity to get outside with family and friends, explore the beautiful bushland and harbourside surrounds, and discover unique gifts made by talented local artisans."

Visitors can also help make their day at the market more sustainable by bringing reusable bags, water bottles and keep cups, supporting the market's focus on reducing single-use plastics.

With limited parking available, visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible.
