Parking inspectors to return to routine inspections

Shoppers and business-people are being reminded to become familiar with parking restrictions in central business districts across Latrobe City to avoid the risk of being fined for breaching rules.

Latrobe City Council's Traffic Compliance team will recommence routine parking patrols from Wednesday 4 November.

Parking officers will be encouraging the turnover of vehicles in timed parking zones as COVID restrictions ease and traffic begins to increase in retail and business precincts.

Officers will be ensuring all shoppers and business-people have equal opportunity to access parking.

This will help ensure customers can access retailers and service providers, and give businesses the best chance of receiving much needed trade to start the long journey to economic recovery following COVID-19 lockdowns.

"If you are unsure of the restrictions in areas that you may have been accessing during these past three months, please check the signs carefully as we move towards

COVID Normal and support our local businesses," Latrobe City Council Chief Executive Officer Steven Piasente said.
