Passenger injured after hoon driver crashes, South Australia

A hoon driver has been arrested and his passenger is in hospital following a crash overnight at Salisbury North.

Just before 2.30am on Sunday 21 March, patrols and emergency services were called to Uraidla Avenue, after a Holden sedan crashed into the fence of a school and caught fire.

The car had been seen doing burnouts in Tabora Crescent before losing control and crashing and both the driver and passenger were able to escape before the fire took hold.

The driver, a 29-year-old from Elizabeth South was arrested and charged with drive disqualified, due care and property damage and has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 29 April.

His passenger, a 27-year-old man also from Elizabeth South, was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with minor injuries.

The car was completely destroyed.
