Pedestrian dies after crash at Camperdown

An elderly pedestrian who was hit by a car earlier in the week has died in hospital.

About 12.55pm on Wednesday (7 December 2022), emergency services were called to City Road, Camperdown, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The pedestrian – an 82-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle – a 40-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police were notified that the man died in hospital yesterday (Thursday 8 December 2022).

Inquiries into the circumstance surrounding the crash continue.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
