Pedestrian dies after crash at Doonside

A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle in Sydney's west earlier this week.

About 5.45pm on Tuesday 16 June 2020, a male pedestrian was crossing Bungaribee Road, Doonside, when he was struck by a White Toyota Prado.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended with NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated the 72-year-old pedestrian for serious head injuries.

He was transported to Westmead Hospital where he passed away yesterday (Thursday 18 June 2020).

The driver of the Toyota, a 36- year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Investigations into the circumstances of the crash will continue.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
