
Councillor Sarah Pascoe has been unanimously elected Deputy Mayor of Cessnock City Council in a vote by councillors at the Ordinary Meeting on 16 September 2026.
Deputy Mayor Pascoe takes on the role for the next 12 months, following the conclusion of Cr Tracey Harrington's term in the position.
Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton congratulated Deputy Mayor Pascoe on her election to the role and thanked Cr Harrington for her service as Deputy Mayor.
"Born and raised in Cessnock and a local business owner, Deputy Mayor Pascoe is a strong advocate for our local government area," said Mayor Watton.
"I wish her the best in the role over the next 12 months and am looking forward to working closely with her as Council continues to strive for the best outcomes for our community.
"I would also like to thank Cr Harrington, who has done a stellar job representing Council as Deputy Mayor over the past 12 months."
Cessnock councillors will next vote for a Deputy Mayor in September 2027.
