Pedestrian dies after Ringwood collision

A teenage girl has died after she was struck by a truck this morning in Ringwood, Victoria Police say.

 

It’s believed the 14-year-old was walking south across Whitehorse Road just after 7am when she was struck by a truck travelling south on Dampier Grove.

 

The girl was transported from the scene but later died in hospital.

It’s understood the truck was turning left onto the Maroondah Highway at the time of the incident.

 

The truck did not stop after the incident however a 39-year-old man contacted police shortly after the incident.

 

The NSW man is currently assisting Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives with their enquiries.
