Pedestrian fatality in Mudgee

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after a fatal pedestrian crash in the state’s central west today, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 10.30am today a woman was using a pedestrian crossing on Market Street, Mudgee when she was hit by a vehicle.

Police have been told the vehicle struck the 69-year-old woman who was walking across the road.

Sadly, the woman died at the scene.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the 84-year-old female driver at the scene before she was taken to Mudgee District Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

A crime scene was established and investigations by the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Mudgee Police Station on 6372 8599.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
