Pedestrian killed in Seymour

Highway patrol officers are on scene where a man has died following a collision involving a pedestrian in Seymour this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Station and Wallis streets following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car just after 3pm.

The pedestrian is yet to be formally identified, and sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are heading to the scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

It is expected the area will be cordoned off for some time while detectives process the scene.
