That is why the Government of Canada is investing to help Tronosjet Maintenance Inc. scale up and reach new markets.

Innovators in aviation set to lower carbon emissions while reaching new heights

Earlier this week, Bobby Morrissey, Member of Parliament for Egmont, announced a total investment of $1,212,000 to Tronosjet Maintenance Inc through ACOA's Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program for three projects that will support the expansion of operations in both Slemon Park and Charlottetown, and position the company for long-term growth.

The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

A repayable contribution of $975,000 will support a 2,400-square-foot expansion of the company's manufacturing facility, as well as the addition of solar panels that will provide up to 75 percent of the facility's electricity requirements. The project will also support the acquisition of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. A repayable contribution of $187,000 will assist with the purchase of specialized aircraft tooling equipment. A non-repayable contribution of $50,000 will support the hiring of a dedicated quality assurance and control specialist.

This announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada's commitment to support innovation, and position local economies for long-term growth by building on regional strengths.
