Perth Entertainment Precinct Contract Awarded

  • Alliance contract now executed for planning and design development of Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct
  • Detailed design will consider all community ideas and input
  • Alliance team to progress design, approvals and early works over coming months

A contract to progress detailed design development of the Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct has now been awarded.

The contract has been awarded to an alliance comprising Seymour Whyte, Civmec, and Aurecon, who will work closely with the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery to progress the planning and detailed design.

This strong Western Australian-based design and construction team will integrate ideas and feedback gathered from community consultation and stakeholder engagement in recent weeks.

The consortium includes internationally renowned architects, specialist urban designers and geotechnical experts, and have delivered some of the State's most iconic projects including the recently completed Boorloo Bridge.

The Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct is a key election commitment to realise Burswood's full potential for sport and recreation, creating a true multipurpose entertainment precinct, delivering benefits for both the local community and everyday park users as well as boosting the State's capacity to host a range of arts, cultural and sporting events.

Precinct construction work is expected to be complete in 2027.

Further stakeholder and community input will be invited as the design progresses in coming months, and people are encouraged to register for project updates at https://www.pesp.wa.gov.au .

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

"This is an iconic project that will see the Burswood precinct realise its full potential, delivering significant economic benefits for the State, along with quality public infrastructure for the local and wider community.

"The alliance team we're bringing on board to deliver this project are behind some of the most iconic infrastructure projects we've seen in this State, including the recently completed Boorloo Bridge.

"With a team of internationally renowned architects, specialist urban designers and geotechnical experts, I am expecting the design of the new Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct will be incredible."

As stated by Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier Daniel Pastorelli:

"The alliance team will incorporate ideas and suggestions from community members and stakeholders as we develop the designs for this exciting project.

"As government lead for the project, I will ensure there is more opportunities for community input as we progress through the design stages."
