Perth Fire Investigation

Arson Squad detectives are seeking information regarding a building fire in Perth this morning, Monday 22 March 2021.
About 1:30am the Department of Fire and Emergency Services advised Police they were responding to a fire at a building on the corner of Milligan Street and Murray Street, Perth. Police attended to assist with traffic management and any potential evacuations. Upon arrival it was identified the building was vacant and on fire.
Information was received that people were seen leaving the building just prior to the fire being reported. Police conducted patrols of the area and located a woman who matched the description of one of the people seen leaving the building. She was taken into custody and is assisting with the investigation. Inquiries are continuing into the identity of other persons who may have been at the building at the time of the fire.
Arson Squad detectives attended the scene of the fire this morning to establish the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
