Perth Number One for Office Occupancy

The City of Perth has welcomed new property figures that show Perth is leading the nation when it comes to office workers returning to the CBD

Data released from the Property Council of Australia shows Perth’s office occupancy levels have surged to 71 per cent, the highest in the country.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the occupancy rate is the strongest recorded since November 2021, following historic lows induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is a huge vote of confidence for the Perth CBD,” Mr Zempilas said.

“There’s a special atmosphere in our City, and people are enjoying being back in the thick of the action where they can see their work mates, go to their favourite bar or café and – now more than ever – make the most of some of the fabulous events and attractions that are here.

“With the extra police presence, Perth is a safer, cleaner and friendlier City,” he said.

The figures come after a full calendar of Winter events in the City breathed new life into the CBD, with the latest snapshot from the City of Perth also showing pedestrian activity at near pre-pandemic levels.

“The best part is there’s lots more happening in our City of Light as we head into Spring and then Summer, when our City really comes alive for Christmas Lights, shopping in the CBD and other major events.

“Then of course we have Fringe and the Perth Festival to look forward to.

“It’s a really exciting time for our City,” Mr Zempilas said.
