As stated by the Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn:
"Perth Zoo is one of WA's most loved destinations to connect with wildlife and spend meaningful time with friends and family.
"ZOOlights invites visitors to see the Zoo in a whole new light while learning how everyone can conserve wildlife.
"Many of the animals at the Zoo are more active later in the day leading into dusk, so ZOOlights presents an opportunity to experience the zoo in a new way.
"With extended opening hours and the prospect of great spring weather these school holidays, I encourage everyone to experience this unique night-time zoo adventure."
