Sydney New Year's Eve is renowned globally as one of the most spectacular events in the world.
Major roads in and around the city will be closed during the event. This may affect how you travel to vantage points and other areas around the inner city and harbour. A little organisation beforehand can go a long way to help make your event fun, safe and memorable.

Alcohol Free Zones
An Alcohol Free Zone will be in operation from 8am 31 December 2019 to 6am 1 January 2020 encompassing Bradleys Head Road south of the intersection with Whiting Beach Road to the entrance of the Bradleys Head National Park and continuing down Athol Wharf Road to Taronga Zoo Wharf.
Road Closures
3pm, 31 December 2019 - 2am, 1 January 2020
- Athol Wharf Rd – Between Bradleys Head Rd and Taronga Zoo Wharf
- Bradleys Head Rd – Between Whiting Beach Rd and Athol Wharf Rd
STA Buses excepted. Vehicles within road closure areas will be restricted from exiting prior to reopening
11.30pm, 31 December 2019 - 2am, 1 January 2020
- Bradleys Head Rd – Between Thompson St and Whiting Beach Rd
- Prince Albert St – Between Queen St and Milner St northbound
- Thompson St – Between Bradleys Head Rd and Burrawong Ave
- Whiting Beach Rd – Between Prince Albert St and Bradleys Head Rd
