Play, Create And Explore In Camden

Camden Council is inviting the community to connect with art, music and culture through a range of

engaging programs and opportunities available in Camden.

Feel like brightening your day with some music? Members of the public are encouraged to stop by and play

the colourful Public Art Pianos, painted by artist Michael Fardon, which can be found at Alan Baker Art

Gallery, Julia Reserve Youth and Community Centre and Narellan Library.

Or perhaps you're interested in taking some art home? Come down to Alan Baker Art Gallery, where you'll

be able to browse a beautiful retail range, including Camden-inspired tote bags and tea towels, stationery

such as notepads and cards by local artists and more unique items perfect for gifts or keepsakes.

Looking for a way to share your talents with your community? Musicians, street performers and pavement

artists interested in bringing even more vibrancy to Camden are encouraged to apply for a General Busking

Registration, giving them the chance to showcase their talents across the local government area.

Or maybe you have an idea for an art workshop you'd love to take part in that Council doesn't currently

offer? Council is encouraging you to share those ideas as part of a quick, two-question survey to help shape

programs that inspire creativity across the Camden area.

Keen to explore and learn along the way? Alan Baker Art Gallery works in collaboration with Camden

Museum and Dr Crookston's House to offer school and special interest tours. These excursions provide a

unique way to explore Camden's fascinating heritage, history and culture, offering students and groups an

engaging learning experience.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said these programs were all about bringing art and culture closer to

the community.

"Art, music and culture have such a special way of bringing people together, sparking joy and encouraging

creativity," she said.

"From playing one of our bright and welcoming pianos, to enjoying local buskers or helping to create some

new and exciting workshops you can be part of, there are so many opportunities to get involved."
