The University of Plymouth and Curtin University have signed an agreement that formalises four decades of working collaboratively, and lays out plans for a range of impactful research and teaching initiatives.
The two universities - located in coastal cities in the UK and Australia respectively - have put pen to paper on a new Memorandum of Understanding.
It covers activities in education, innovation and research, particularly in geography, marine autonomy and ocean science, environmental science, sustainability and renewable energy, and cyber and digital resilience.
It paves the way for student and staff exchanges, joint professional and continuing education, and initiatives through which students at the two institutions can explore opportunities in the UK and Australia.
And it lays the foundation for greater collaboration on defence-related activities, with the Plymouth and Perth areas currently set to benefit from major investment from their respective governments.
The new agreement was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Plymouth Professor
