Police appeal to locate teen missing from Surry Hills

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy missing from Surry Hills

Jerome Sykes, aged 14, was last seen at his school on Chalmers Street, Surry Hills, about 8.10am last Thursday (25 August 2022).

When he failed to return home and could not be located, he was reported missing to officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command yesterday (Monday 29 August 2022) who immediately commenced an investigation into his whereabouts.

Inquiries have established that he was travelling on a train near Central Railway Station about 11.30am yesterday (Monday 29 August 2022).

Family and police hold serious concerns for Jerome's welfare due to his age.

Jerome is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, slim build, short red hair, blue eyes and freckles.

He was last seen wearing Tommy Hilfger black jumper, navy blue school pants bright red/orange fluro shoes.

Jerome is known to frequent Surry Hills, Kings Cross, Redfern and Penrith areas.
