Police appeal to locate woman missing since 2013

Police are appealing for public assistance to help find a missing South Korean National who has not been seen since 2013.

Hyeonju Jeon, aged 32, has been in Australia since 2011 on a working holiday visa.

Very little is known of her movements in Australia. A family member has told police Hyeonju may have been working on a farm, not far from the Gold Coast in Queensland in February 2013, before losing contact with her.

Police have information Hyeonju may have resided in Cairns and Bowen, Queensland, prior to being reported as missing.

Inquiries with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection indicate Hyeonju remains 'onshore', indicating she has not departed Australia.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command have carriage of the investigation and have reached out to the public for information into Hyeonju's whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Hyeonju's welfare due to her not making contact with her family for nearly 10 years.

She is described as being of East Asian appearance, average slim to medium build, black hair and brown eyes.
