Police are investigating the circumstance surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Pascoe Vale this evening.
Investigators have been told a car and train collided near Burgundy Street about 8.20pm.
As a result of the collision a yet to be identified male, who was driving the car, died at the scene.
His female passenger managed to exit the vehicle before the collision.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
