Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision which occurred in Mentone on Wednesday evening.
Investigators have been told a car and motorcycle collided on the Nepean Highway near Swanston Street about 9.05pm on 3 December.
A man and a woman who were on the motorcycle were both rushed to hospital where unfortunately the man later died.
The male driver of the car and his female passenger were also taken by ambulance for treatment.
Unfortunately the female passenger died at hospital.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing.
