Police are responding to fatal collision in Goorambat

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal collision which occurred in Goorambat this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Goorambat-Thoona Road at the intersection with Bungeet and Hammond roads about 12.10pm after reports a utility had collided with two motorcycles.

An 80-year-old male rider from Wangaratta sadly died at the scene.

The second rider, a 70-year-old Wangaratta man, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the white Toyota utility, a 35-year-old Tatong man, was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
