It is alleged that about 4.55pm, the accused was driving a Nissan Patrol SUV along Menang Drive and lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Roundhay Street, causing it to roll onto its side.
A 22-year-old male passenger sustained critical injuries from the crash and was conveyed to Albany Hospital, where he sadly died a short time later.
A 19-year-old female passenger was conveyed to Albany Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 22-year-old male driver was uninjured. He has been charged with one count of Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and is due to appear in Albany Magistrates Court on Thursday, 14 May 2026.
