Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Heyfield this evening.
Investigators have been told the driver of a vehicle travelling on the Heyfield-Dawson Road crashed into a tree just after 9pm.
The male driver sustained life-threatening injuries and remains trapped inside the vehicle.
His male passenger died at the scene.
