About 1.45pm, it will be alleged a white Toyota Hilux utility was travelling northbound on South Western Highway, behind another white Toyota Hilux towing a trailer, when it clipped the rear of that vehicle.
The alleged collision caused the Toyota Hilux towing the trailer to veer into the southbound lane, colliding with a white Ford Ranger utility. Emergency services attended the scene.
The 47-year-old male driver of the Ford Ranger was declared deceased at the scene.
The 26-year-old male driver of the Hilux towing the trailer was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment. The 65-year-old driver of the Toyota Hilux was not injured.
The 65-year-old man from Waikiki has been charged with:
• 1 x Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death
• 1 x Dangerous Driving Occasioning Bodily Harm
He is due to appear before Bunbury Magistrates Court on Thursday, 5 March 2026.
