Police are responding to fatal crash in Walhalla - update

Police continue investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred in Walhalla on Sunday.

Investigators have been told a car was travelling along Walhalla Road about 4.15pm on 19 June when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the road.

The car then went down an embankment before coming to rest.

Two occupants of the car, an 18-year-old man from Ripplebrook and an 18-year-old woman from Bunyip, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver, a 19-year-old man Warragul, suffered critical injuries and is still at hospital receiving treatment.

A 19-year-old man from Drouin who was travelling in the backseat of the car died at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
