Police are responding to fatal crash in Warrandyte

Nunawading Highway Patrol officers are investigating following a crash in Warrandyte last month.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had left the roadway, mounted an embankment and crashed into a tree on Heidelberg-Warrandyte Road on Sunday, 26 June about 3.20pm.

The driver and passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, the passenger, an 84-year-old Ashwood woman, died later in hospital.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
