Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash near Swan Hill this afternoon.
A vehicle containing four occupants was travelling north on Swan Hill-Donald Road at Lalbert when it lost control and rolled several times shortly before 4.30pm.
A female passenger in the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene.
The female driver was taken to hospital where she remains under police guard.
A second female passenger was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and a male passenger was taken by road to hospital with minor injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and an investigation is ongoing.
