Police are responding to serious crash - Caversham

Major Crash Investigators are seeking information regarding a serious crash in Caversham today, Tuesday 21 April 2020, which resulted in an occupant of a house being injured.

About 11:55am Police were called to the crash on Patricia Street, Caversham. The information provided to Police was that a car had crashed into the wall of a house, that a person was injured and trapped inside the house, and that the driver had left the scene.

Further information was provided to Police a short time later that the driver of the vehicle had been detained by three members of the public nearby. The vehicle, a black Subaru Impreza sedan, was still at the scene of the crash.

Police, St John Ambulance and Department Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended the scene.

Upon arrival Police took the suspected driver into custody. He is believed to be a man in his 30s.

A person who was inside the house at the time was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance with a suspected head injury. The suspected driver was also taken to hospital for a medical check-up and a blood test as part of the ongoing investigation.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or who saw the black Subaru Impreza being driven prior to the crash. Anyone with dash camera vision or CCTV of the vehicle is urged to make contact via Crime Stoppers.
