Police arrest man after city assault, South Australia

A man has been arrested while another man has been rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with head injuries following an assault in the city this morning.

Just after 9.30am on Sunday 2 February, police patrols were called to Kintore Avenue, following reports of a man armed with a hammer assaulting a person in the street.

On arrival, members of the public had detained the alleged suspect at the northern end of Kintore Ave.

An injured man was treated at the scene for head injuries before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The male suspect, has been arrested and is currently being interviewed over the incident.

The motive for the attack is currently unclear with police investigating.
