Police arrest man after sexual assault in Prahran

Sexual Crimes Squad detectives have arrested a man after an alleged sex assault at a licensed premises in Prahran on 1 January 2020.

It is alleged a man accompanied a woman into a unisex toilet at the venue on Malvern Road about 12.30am, before sexually assaulting her.

Investigators arrested the 22-year-old Carnegie man earlier today.

He has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault, sexual assault with intent to rape and direct sexual activity towards another.

He has separately been charged with commit indictable offence whilst on bail, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and reckless conduct endangering serious injury - motor vehicle.

He will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.
