Police arrest man for Fremantle assault

Fremantle Detectives have charged a man with Grievous Bodily Harm as a result of an assault that occurred in Fremantle on Saturday night, 27 June 2020.

It will be alleged around 2.30am the victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking with friends on Essex Street towards Essex Lane. The victim and the man had a short verbal exchange before the man struck the victim to the side of the head causing him to fall backwards.

The victim received life threatening head and spinal injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery.

As a result a 26-year-old Attadale man was charged with Grievous bodily harm and will appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court, Thursday 2 July 2020.
