Police arrest man in charged with robbery, assault at Guildford

Police today arrested and charged a man with robbery and assault in relation to a robbery of a store earlier this year.

About 7pm on 3 May 2019, three men entered a store on Fowler Road, Guildford.

Police will allege the men entered the shop wearing balaclavas and armed with hammers. Two of the men pushed a shop attendant toward the cash register. The third man remain standing by the entry door.

Another shop attendant ran from the back of the store to defend his co-worker and he was assaulted before the three men fled.

About 8am today (Wednesday 17 July 2019), police executed a search warrant at Wingate Place, Guildford West and arrested a 21-year-old man.

He was charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.

He was bail refused to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Thursday (18 July 2019).
