Police arrest six males after CBD robbery

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have laid charges following the arrest of six males after an alleged robbery in Melbourne's Southbank last night.

Investigators have been told a 26-year-old man was approached by the group at South Cross Railway Station about 9.40pm and taken to Batman Park where the alleged incident took place.

A 20-year-old Braybrook man was charged with robbery, theft, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, violent disorder, affray and assault in company. He is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' court later today.

A 17-year-old Loch Sport boy was charged with robbery, theft, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, violent disorder, affray, assault in company, commit indictable offence whilst on bail and possess cannabis. He is expected to appear before a Children's court.

An 18-year-old Hoppers Crossing man, an 18-year-old Wyndham Vale man and a 19-year-old Craigieburn man were charged with robbery, theft, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, violent disorder, affray and assault in company. They were bailed to Melbourne Magistrates' court on 11 November.

A 13-year-old youth was released pending enquiries
