Police arrest teen after Donvale hit-run

Nunawading Highway Patrol officers arrested a teenager following an alleged hit-run in Donvale over the weekend.

It is alleged a woman was getting items out of her car, which was parked on Tunstall Road, when she was hit by a red Mazda about 10pm on Saturday, 25 February.

The 50-year-old Box Hill woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mazda did not stop at the scene.

A 17-year-old Donvale man was arrested on Monday, 27 February.

He's been released pending summons and is expected to be charged with:

• failing to stop after an accident

• failing to render assistance

• failing to report an accident

• driving in a dangerous manner

• careless driving
