Police arrest two in stolen BMW

Two people have been arrested in a stolen car this morning.

At 7.50am on Sunday 19 February police responded to reports of a stolen car after a man received a notification that his white BMW had been stolen and was in Paralowie.

Patrols attended Santander Drive and attempted to stop the white BMW however the car took off and crashed through a fence. The car was not pursued for safety reasons.

PolAir was called into assist and together with the GPS tracking system tracked the car along North East Road, Walkerville Terrace, Fullerton Road, through the city to the western suburbs. The car then travelled back through the city onto Goodwood Road.

The BMW was spiked on Goodwood Road Colonel Light Garden before side swiping a Honda SUV.

The passenger a 35-year-old man from Bowden ran from the car but was apprehended a short distance away.

The driver of the BMW a 32-year-old man from Elizabeth North also ran from the scene and climbed onto a nearby roof, he was arrested a short time later without incident.

Both men are currently being interviewed and will be charged later today.

Thankfully no-one was injured during the incident.

Enquires revealed the car was stolen during a break-in on a Brompton home early this morning.
