Police arrest two over Glenorchy taxi incident

An 18-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both from New Town, have been arrested in relation to the Glenorchy taxi incident which occurred about 6:45pm yesterday. They are likely to face charges later today.

Investigations are continuing into the third person believed to be involved. Anyone with information should contact Glenorchy CIB on 131 444.

Police have determined that this incident was not related to the matter which occurred about 9:30pm yesterday, where a 30-year-old woman was quickly apprehended and charged. Those involved in the two separate incidents are not known to each other.

Police want to be clear that any incident which causes harm or distress to members of our community is taken extremely seriously, and such behaviour will not be tolerated.
