Police charge man after assault in Macarthur

Police have charged a man following an alleged assault at a festival in Macarthur on 4 February.

The 48-year-old man from Portland has been charged with recklessly cause serious injury, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault, and affray.

He has been bailed to appear before the Warrnambool Magistrates' Court on 24 July.

The charges follow an alleged assault on Mount Eccles Road, about 11.10pm.

A 41-year-old Penshurst man was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with suspected critical injuries.

Two other men who were arrested at the scene have since been released pending further enquiries.
