Police charge man after child struck by ute - Bardia

A man has been charged after a child was hit by a car in Sydney's southwest.

About 8pm (Sunday 20 February 2022), a 10-year-old girl riding a pushbike was struck by a utility on Campbelltown Road at Bardia.

The child suffered a fractured leg and abdominal injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) conducted inquiries.

About 5.40pm on Saturday 16 April 2022, a 45-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm -drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) - 1st offence and not stop at stop line at red arrow.

He was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 1 June 2022.
